Relaxed water restrictions

09 April 2008 — As of April 2, in cooperation with Johnston County, supplier of Princeton water, Princeton water customers may utilize water through handheld hose use for washing vehicles and pressure washing, as well as hand-held watering and drip irrigation or soaker hoses for shrubbery, plants, etc. only. All other nonessential uses of water, including operating ornamental fountains, filling private swimming pools, and serving water in eating establishments unless requested, remain in effect until further notice.

On Monday the Johnston County Board of Commissioners, in regular session, voted to revise water restrictions. Effective as of that date, County water customers may use irrigation systems under the following rules:

-No irrigation on Mondays

-Odd numbered addresses on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday

-Even numbered addresses on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday

Voluntary conservation practices are encouraged for all other uses of water.
