16 April 2008 – The visiting Lady Eagles of Rosewood High School claimed a 5-4 victory over the North Duplin Jr./Sr. High School Lady Rebels in the ninth inning over 1A Carolina Conference varsity softball on Friday.

The Lady Eagles knotted things up at four all in the seventh.
Jennifer Hall scored the game-winning run in the ninth.
Hall went three for five at bat. Jessica Price, Alysa Spell, and Christina Brunton also contributed multiple hits.
Haile Meadows struck out 10 batters in nine innings.
About the game, Rosewood Coach Meadows said, “I just feel like our girls really got in there and hit the ball. They hit the ball well. Their defense was good tonight. The pitching was good. Where Haile (Meadows) struggled, her teammates picked her up. They did not give up when they were struggling.”
On Tuesday, April 8, Meadows posted a no-hitter as the Eagles shut out the hosting Spring Creek High School Lady Gators 7-0.
Meadows recorded a season high of 12 strikeouts, 10 of which were consecutive, in three-plus innings.
The Lady Eagles opened the game with one run in the first inning and posted three runs in the third.
Rosewood sealed the win with three runs in the fifth inning.
Hill plated one runner with a single. Price went two for four and drove home one runner.
April Pfeiffer went one for two at bat. Both Price and Pfeiffer advanced home on wild pitches.
Rosewood, 3-7 overall and 2-1 in the conference, will host Ayden-Grifton High School on Friday, April 18 at 7 p.m.
