KIMBERLY J. ADAMS
Kimberly Jewell Adams, 36, of Princeton, died Thursday, April 24.
Born October 15, 1971, she was a daughter of Jimmy David Adams of Four Oaks and Deborah Hill Stallings of Princeton.
The funeral was Monday afternoon, April 28, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Revs. Kenneth Thompson and Kenny Lee officiated. Burial followed in the Adams family cemetery near Four Oaks.
Surviving in addition to her parents are a brother, Jude Adams of Princeton, and a sister, Jamie Adams of Princeton.
GEORGIA M. ALLEN
Georgia Magdalene Adams Allen, 74, of Four Oaks, died Sunday, April 27.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Macon and Annie Adams Beasley.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 29 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with Rev. Jimmy Earp officiating. Entombment followed in the cemetery at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church near Four Oaks.
Surviving are her husband, James Elvin Allen; sons, Danny Lee and wife Carolyn of Princeton and Curtis Lee of Smithfield; daughters, Deborah Lee of Smithfield, Kathi Childers and husband Alvie of Shallotte; stepson, Jerry Allen and wife Wanda of Smithfield, Kim Saxon and husband Ronnie of Dunn; half-brother, James Beasley of Willow Springs; half-sister, Patsy Joyner of Bentonville; sixteen grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.

MARVIN J. BARFIELD
Marvin Joseph Barfield, 82, of Goldsboro, died Monday, April 21 at his home.
Born in Lenoir County on May 17, 1925, he was the son of the late Edgar and Essie Barfield; brother of the late Melvin Barfield, and sisters, Effie Heath, Glynnie Wiggins, Josie Gibbs, Joan Hill and Mary Dixon. Mr. Barfield was a member of Fields Chapel Holiness Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24 at 4 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Warren H. Barfield and the Rev. Randall A. Barfield officiating. Burial followed in Wayne Memorial Park.
Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Geraldine Mason Barfield; sons, Kenneth Barfield of Kinston, Larry Barfield and wife, Sonia, of Kinston, Joe Hemby and wife, Pam, of Vanceboro; stepsons, Michael Evans and wife, Jean, of Rosewood, Randy Evans and wife, Eleanor, of Goldsboro; daughters, Bonnie McLawhorn of Kinston, Joyce Ann Lee and husband, James, of Kinston, Ruby Kay Phillips of Fuquay-Varina, Lynette Ipock and husband, Curt, of LaGrange, Marilyn Burns and husband, Jerry, of Swansboro; stepdaughters, Sheila Esquivel of Goldsboro, Gail Scarborough and husband, Jody, of Princeton; brothers, Randall Barfield and wife, Joanne, of Goldsboro, Warren "Sam" Barfield and wife, Pat, of Autryville, Eddie Lee Barfield and wife, Shirley, of Fayetteville, Timmy Barfield and wife, Carol, of Snow Hill; sisters, Lucille Smith of Goldsboro, Judy Peedin and husband, Keith, of Goldsboro; 25 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.

BOBBY G. BROWN
Bobby Gene Brown, 66, of Selma, died Wednesday, April 30.
Born in Johnston County on February 19, 1942, he was the son of the late Jessie Larkin and Katie Garner Brown. He was self-employed as a carpet installer and worked for the Board of Education. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mabel Littleton, and sister-in-law, Denise Littleton.
Graveside services were held Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m. in the Princeton Cemetery with Rev. Jay Summerlin and Rev. Wade Daughtry officiating.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Littleton Brown; daughter, Kimberly Brown Whitman and husband Shane; brothers, Jessie Larkin Brown, Jr. and wife Frances of Smithfield, Jerry Ray Brown and wife Irene of Selma; sister-in-law, Jean Lassiter and husband Rock of Princeton; brother-in-law, Dennis Littleton of Selma; six nieces; and three nephews.

JAMES T. GODWIN
James Turner Godwin, 58, of Selma, died Monday, April 14 at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield.
A native of Wilson County, Mr. Godwin was the son of the late James Edsel and Myrtle Wellons Godwin.
The funeral was Thursday morning, April 17, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. The Rev. Kevin Edwards officiated. Burial followed in Micro Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Neil Hopkins Godwin; a daughter, Jamie Michelle Stanley of Benson; a son, Shane White of Princeton; a sister, Carolyn Herbert of Wendell; and a grandson.

MARTHA LOUISE BRASWELL LANGLEY
Martha Louise Braswell Langley, 90, of Princeton, died Friday, April 25 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mrs. Langley was born in Johnston County on Sept. 7, 1917, to the late Charles Richard and Bertha Lee Creech Braswell. She was a member of Whitley Church where she was a member of the Senior Citizen Group, served as past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, Sunday school teacher and deaconess.
The funeral was held Sunday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Pastor Andy Stovall, the Rev. Ricky Yelverton and Dr. Glenn Mills officiated. Interment followed at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
She is survived by her husband, Bernice Samuel Langley; two sons, Charles Samuel Langley Sr. and his wife, Sue, of Rosewood and Ronald "Ronnie" Keith Langley and his wife, Linda, of Elm City; three sisters, Luda Hinnant of Smithfield, Joyce Myers of Garner and Betsy Pate of Pine Level; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Dollie Mae Capps of Rosewood.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Langley was preceded in death by her daughter, Peggy Ann Musgrave; three brothers, the Rev. Worth Braswell, Bill Braswell and Robert Braswell; and four sisters, Hazel Carter, Eunice Thompson, Frances Howell and Vonnie Pearce.
The family would like to express gratitude for the comfort and care given to their loved one while at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. A special appreciation goes to Dr. Sam McLamb, her lifetime physician.

ROBERT T. LANGLEY
Robert Theodore "Bob" Langley, 87, of Princeton, died Monday, April 21.
Born in Wayne County on January 18, 1921, he was the son of the late Willie Bryant and Nora Bunn Langley. Mr. Langley was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Joy Rast.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 23 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton with burial following in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery near Princeton.
Surviving are his wife, Georgia Lewis Langley; sons, Robert Gene Langley and wife, Bobbie, of Princeton, Danny Ray Langley and wife, Donna, of Princeton; daughter, Panda L. Crocker and husband, Sheryle, of Smithfield; brothers, Bernice Langley of Princeton, Kenneth Langley of Smithfield; sisters, Jean Eatmon and Doris Daughtry, both of Smithfield; grandchildren, Bryan Langley, Sherry Gray, Jeannine Walker and Ken Crocker; and seven great-grandchildren.

BRANCH POPE
Branch Pope, 59, of Goldsboro, died Saturday, April 26 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Branch was born in Wilson County on July 14, 1948 to the late Robert W. Pope and Ruby Branch Pope. He was a retired teacher, athletic director and coach of Rosewood High School. He was past-president of the North Carolina High School Athletic Directors Association, and a member and past exalted ruler of Goldsboro Elks Lodge 139 B.P.O.E.
A memorial service will be held today (Wednesday) at 4 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Billy Olsen officiating.
Branch is survived by his wife, Sally Donat Pope; his brother, Robert W. Pope and wife, Susie, of Wilson; his nephews, Will Pope of Wilson, Bob Ellis and family of Greensboro; his brother-in-law, Win Donat and wife, LaVonne, of Greenville; and nephews, Pete Donat of Wilmington, Luke Donat and wife, Joy, of Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Branch Pope Scholarship Fund for Rosewood High School, in care of Charlie Satterfield, 105 Hill Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.
The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
MARGARET S. POWELL
Margaret Esther Sasser Powell, 73, of Goldsboro, died Monday, April 28.
Mrs. Powell was born in Wayne County on September 30, 1934 to the late William Albert Sasser and Minnie Killette Sasser Overton. She was an active member of Belfast Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Jones and Dr. Preston Heath officiating. Interment will be Friday, May 3 at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with the Rev. Eddie McKeel officiating.
Mrs. Powell is survived by her husband, John D. Powell; her son, John D. Powell II of Hendersonville; her daughters, Lovie Esther McKeel and husband, the Rev. Eddie McKeel, of Goldsboro, Christia "Christy" Powell Smith and husband, Richard D. Smith, of Sanford; her grandchildren, Allen D. McKeel, Lindsey McKeel, David Powell, Andrew Powell and Miles Smith; her sisters, Catherine Sykes of Goldsboro, Joyce Craft and husband, Fred, of Pikeville, Alice Hartley and husband, Pete, of Princeton; her brother, Charles Sasser and wife, Debbie, of Woodstock, Ga.; her sister-in-law, Harlene Sasser of Fremont; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, David Sasser and Tommy Sasser; and her sisters, Loretta Sasser, Hazel Seymour and Rachel Martin.

ROLAND N. PRICE
Roland Nathaniel Price, 81, of Goldsboro, died Sunday morning, April 27, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Mr. Price was born in Wayne County on June 21, 1926, to the late Nathan and Carrie Howell Price. He was a member of Faro Chapel PFWB Church.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 28 at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. A graveside service was held Tuesday morning, April 29, at Pikeville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Crocker Price; one daughter, Linda Cherry and her husband, Walter T., of Wilmington; one son, Donnie Price and his wife, Koni, of Rosewood; three stepsons, Lester Edmundson Jr. and his wife, Grace, of Knightdale, Ron Edmundson and his wife, Evelyn, of Kenly, Todd Edmundson and his wife, Sandra, of Pikeville; one brother, Vernon Price and his wife, Elsie, of Eureka; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a special nephew, Melvin Peed.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Price was preceded in death by two brothers, James Price and Eugene Price; and one sister, Esther Le Arnold.

ALICE HINES SNIPES
Alice Hines Snipes, 75, of Rosewood, died Saturday, April 26.
Born in Wayne County on February 9, 1933, she was the daughter of the late John Simpson and Iola Coor Hines. Her husband was the late Billy Ray Snipes. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Lyndon and Malcolm Hines, and sisters, Olivia Hines and Bessie Hines Faucette.
The funeral was held Monday, April 28, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial was Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Alice Annette Snipes of Florida and Kay Snipes Bowers of Rosewood; and three grandchildren, Stephen, Hollie, and Kaitlynn Bowers.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

EULA MAE STRICKLAND
Eula Mae Parrish Strickland, 85, of Smithfield died Thursday, April 24 at Johnston Memorial Hospital.
Born August 9, 1922 in Johnston County, Mrs. Strickland was the daughter of the late Dewey Earl and Lillie Mae Davis Fowler. She was the widow of William Lennie Parrish.
The funeral was held Saturday evening, April 26, at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma. Burial was Sunday afternoon, April 27, in the Davis family cemetery on Stevens Chapel Road.
Surviving are her sons, William Linwood Parrish and Lonnie Clifton Parrish, both of Selma, Randy Michael Parrish of Princeton, Rocky Neal Parrish of Clayton, and Lewis Mark Parrish of Smithfield; seven daughters, Barbara Parrish-Futch of Four Oaks, Geraldine Benson and Katie Narron of Selma, Catherine Plyler of Clayton, Juanita Starr of Smithfield, Gail Parrish o f Wilson, and Angela Cotten of Garner; two brothers, Dewey Fowler and Earl Fowler of Lake Wylie, SC; three sisters, Evelyn Gunn of Fort Mills, SC, Alice Batts of Raleigh, and Frances Combs of Greensboro; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

THE REV. WILLIAM J. TYNER JR.
The Rev. William Jay "W.J." Tyner Jr., 76, of Goldsboro, died Wednesday, April 30, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Tyner was born in Johnston County on Sept. 5, 1931, to the late William Jasper Tyner and Maddress McLamb Tyner.
Homegoing services will be Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
He is survived by his loving wife, Gertrude Tyner; two sons, Gary Tyner of Grantham, Terry Tyner and his wife, Kathy, of Grantham; one sister, Irene Capps of Micro; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8:30 at Howell Funeral Home, other times at the residence.
