Boys fall while girls rise to challenge
30 April 2008 — The Princeton High School Bulldogs fell 75-70 to the Rebels of North Duplin Jr./Sr. High School in a 1A Carolina Conference boys’ track and field meet Thursday, April 17.
Princeton took first place in the long jump, triple jump, 110-meter high hurdles, 300-meter hurdles, pole vault, 800-meter run, 200-meter dash, and four by 200-meter relay.
T.J. Wilson recorded a 19-feet and four-inch long jump and a 42-foot and nine-inch triple jump. He posted a time of 16.6 in the high hurdles and 41.66 in the hurdles.
James Drew soared over the bar at eight-feet and six-inches in the pole vault while Tyrone Manule had a time of 2:15 in the 800-meter run.
Cameron White completed the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.19. White, Wilson, Kevin Foy, and Decardo Cole combined for a relay time of 1:38.
The Princeton High School Lady Bulldogs claimed an 84-30 home victory over the North Duplin Jr./Sr.

Kelicka Scabaro, Brittany Smith and Lanysa James placed in the shot put. Scabaro took first with a throw measuring 25-feet, nine-and-a-half inches while Smith recorded a 21-foot, eight-and-a-half toss. James tossed the discus 18-feet and one-and-a-half inches.
Brittany Pierce and Tiffine Battle finished first and second respectively in the triple jump leaping 27-feet and 23-feet and-one-inch respectively.
Cierea Manuel and Zera McCoy took first, second respectively in the 100-meter high hurdles with 20.50, and 20.75 respectively. Manuel came in first in the 300-meter hurdles and high jump.
Scabaro recorded a 57-foot and five-inch discus throw for first place. Smith tossed the discus 57-feet and three-inches taking second. Kristina Moore claimed third with a 50-foot and three-inch toss.
Steffanie Maus finished third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 9:20.
Jania Bugle won the long jump with a jump measuring 15-feet and five-inches. Brittany Pierce took second with a jump measuring 13-feet and five-inches and Battle record a 12-and-a-half-foot jump for third.
Ashley Goaliano, Victoria Massey and Steffanie Moms took first, second and third respectively in the pole vault with jumps measuring six-feet, five-foot and six-inches and four-foot and six-inches respectively.
Keyonna McDonald finished the 400-meter run with a time of 1:14.6 coming in first while Kristina Moore finished the 400 with a time of 1:28, coming in third.
