WILLIAM E. SEYMOUR

William Ellis “Bill” Seymour, 76, of Goldsboro, died Friday, May 2 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Bill was born in Wayne County on October 30, 1931, to the late James Howard Seymour Sr. and Alease Ezzell. He was the retired owner and operator of Bill Seymour’s Garage. Bill attended Pinewood Presbyterian Church.

The funeral was Sunday, May 4 at 5 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Bradley officiating. Burial was Monday, May 5 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Bill is survived by his wife, Brigitta Seymour; his son, William Ellis Seymour Jr. and wife, Sheila, of Havelock; his daughters, Sandra Seymour Turner of Atlantic Beach, and DeeVee Seymour Phillips and husband, Chris, of Princeton; his brother, Ed Ezzell and wife, Donna of Snow Hill; his sisters, Cora Sassano and husband, Tom, of Goldsboro, Faye Enriquez and husband, Joe, of Goldsboro and Lynette Williams of Goldsboro ; his grandchildren, Channing Griffin, Samantha Seymour, Taylor Seymour, April Keene, Bryan Stotts and Kelly Blansit.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Howard “Jim” Seymour Jr., his sister, Francis Harrell, and his grandchildren, Misty and Wesley.

Memorials may be made to Pinewood Presbyterian Church, 2114 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

 

ELSIE D. SUTTON

Elsie Daughtry Sutton, 85, of Princetoon, died Friday afternoon, May 2, in Smithfield Manor.

Born October 22, 1922 in Johnston County to the late Kimble and Elsie Woodard Daughtry, she was the widow of William G. “W.G.” Sutton who died October 1, 2001. She was preceded in death by siblings, Thelma Daughtry Rains, Irene Daughtry Mozingo, R. K. Daughtry, Jr. and Bethany Daughtry. Elsie was a member of the Hephzibah Baptist Church.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, May 5 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Princeton. Burial followed in the Thompson Family Cemetery.

Surviving are her brother, Randall Daughtry and wife, Marjorie of Princeton; step-son, Willard Gordon Sutton; step-daughters, Wilma Gray Gurka of Brownsburg, IN and Peggy Ann Smith of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.
