Appreciation reception
On Sunday, May 18, Princeton School will honor former graduates, teachers, administrators and staff as it closes out its last year as a union school. Housing elementary grades through high school on one campus since its beginning in 1923, Princeton School will start a new era this fall when Princeton Elementary School opens two miles away from the original site. The floating reception, open to the public, will be held in the school cafeteria on Dr. Donnie H. Jones, Jr. Blvd. from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
police report
According to Princeton Police Department reports, Randy Shariff Dunston, 27, of Pollock St. in Selma was arrested on April 24 at 10:08 a.m. for a misdemeanor. He is being held in Johnston County Jail and will go to trial on May 7 at the county courthouse in Smithfield. A $500 bond has been set for his release.
The suspect was arrested for delaying an officer to discharge his duty while investigating a disturbance and ensuring the safety of the people at the residence.
Time budgeting seminar
The Business and Industry Center of Wayne Community College will offer the free seminar "Time Management for Champions" 9 am-12 noon on Thursday, May 8 in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college's main campus in Goldsboro. Call 919-735-5151, ext. 334 to pre-register by May 6.
Barden crossing closed
The railroad crossing at Barden Street in Princeton will be temporarily closed from April 7, 2008 through May 7, 2008 to observe and evaluate traffic patterns.
